Cake stall to help the homeless

 

A few weeks ago (when lockdown wasn’t a thing), luvo’s youngest and most enthusiastic software testing ninja, Rosie, took a day trip to Sydney CBD with her family and she was struck by how many homeless people there were on the streets. This made her want to help them so when they got back home, she started planning for a bake sale outside their house in suburban Sydney. (Just in case you are wondering, Rosie doesn’t actually work for luvo, she is in fact the daughter of luvo’s Marketing Manager).

Rosie’s family and neighbourhood friends came together and baked up a storm with cupcakes, brownies, and many other beautiful sugary treats which were lined across two tables in the garden. Rosie made signs and drew pictures to explain her sale, and she sold the sweet treats to friends, neighbours, passers-by, and family friends to raise money and support for The Chappell Foundation. The sale was a success, she sold out of absolutely everything and there was not a cake left for Mum, Dad, or any of luvo team (sob)!

Giving back to the community is important to the team and their families at luvo, who regularly participate in charity functions and fundraisers, and The Chappell Foundation is one of luvo’s brilliant charity partners. Rosie made $500 for The Chappell Foundation and luvo matched the amount dollar for dollar, so this doubled the amount fundraised. We know the dollars Rosie raised will be warmly welcomed and will go towards helping create a better future for the homeless youth of Australia.
